Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m a freelance fashion + lifestyle photographer, Byron Bay is currently home base and has been for the past 9 years.
I have recently returned home from a small work break, a couple of little surf adventures in Indo and Sri Lanka - my first ever non shoot / work trips since I started shooting full time 4 years ago. It felt strange but good, and very much needed to refresh. Right now I’m playing catch up, basically juggling ten things at once - including updating my Website (which hasn’t been done in 2 years), sorting prints and I’m in the middle of retouching 3 campaigns.
I never really know what’s in store next. I’m not big on making too many plans (I get anxious if things are booked too far in advance) plus I like to keep a bit of mystery. I’m just excited to try some new things; possibly explore a start up idea some more and get the creative juices flowing more than ever.
The latest instalment of our Freedom Campaign is a classic American escape story told with an Aussie edge by International photographer Ali Mitton. Free to Explore is Ali’s rendition of Freedom and what it means to her.
A tale of two reckless youths with nothing but a pick up truck and an open road to nowhere, they head East until all they hear is the sound of their car echoing through the desert.
Our design team pay homage to Wrangler’s heritage with a signature boiler suit, and a modern take on our classic Broken Twill fabric. This season we take steps towards more sustainable practice through the introduction BCI and recycled cotton.
Come with us as we drift through the Californian desert, the perfect setting for two souls to explore freedom under the golden sun.

Oh hey! My name is Kaylene, kinda going by Kay these days - let’s go with Kay. I am the founder and editor of StartUp Creative. SC is my baby that I started in 2014, a print publication and on online platform that aims to educate, inspire and grow creative entrepreneurs. I spent 3 months in NYC last year which totally blew my mind, I’ve just returned back to Australia and recently fallen in love with the beautiful city of Melbourne - which I now call home.
I’m now a proud north-sider, regular at Market Lane Coffee, ride a bike most places and likely to be wearing all black.
I’m currently working on the next issue of StartUp Creative Magazine, writing a workshop series and course on mindfulness and business and loving getting to know the startup and creative scene of Melbourne.

So today I spent the day going fabric shopping with my man’s Grandma so we can whip up, together, an epic blouse on the sewing machine. This pretty much sums me up. I believe, if you can’t find it… make it. I’m a photographer by title, however, life is too short to only do one thing. Whilst I'm taking pictures you'll find me also making films, creating collages, playing music, sketching or exploring wild places.
At Wrangler our motto has been the same since the beginning. It’s all about the jeans. Designed locally in Australia for free-spirited individuals, who live by an underlying sense of adventure and freedom.
