Describe your life in 3 words
Being able to live without fear- fear of failure, fear of loss...
Poppy undies came about because…
My mom taught me how to embroider a couple years ago over the holidays and I fell in love with it. I thought underwear would be a cool way to show my work. It’s intimate and personal.
Tell us a little bit about yourselves...
Renton: I’m an environmentalist at heart and I’ve found my path as an artist and in recent years I have managed to weave the two together.
Clare: I like to think of ways to help people better themselves. I love handmade things and old things and I love the magic of nature. I like to encourage people to be better humans in what ever ways they can be.
Let’s start at the beginning. How did you guys get into pottery? And how did Pottery for the Planet come about?
For Renton, pottery has been with him all of his life, he is a second-generation production potter and learned most of his skills from his parents. Clare has always been an artist and designer. Both of us have always been passionate about preserving our Earths environment. Pottery For The Planet began small as a fundraising campaign to stop the coal port development in Keppel bay in Central Queensland and within a few years we evolved it into a brand for a reusable product to combat single use plastics.
Tell us a bit about yourself...
We are a couple from Bangalow, Northern Rivers NSW and live on 10 beautiful acres in the hills, with amazing views of the sunrise and the sunset. We are currently both University students, which is great because we have a lot of free time for more camping and surfing adventures.
Claire is wearing the Vintage Bodysuit in yellow and Lachie is wearing the Spencer Chopped in Wreckage Indigo (Sept style).
At Wrangler our motto has been the same since the beginning. It’s all about the jeans. Designed locally in Australia for free-spirited individuals, who live by an underlying sense of adventure and freedom.
