Musician: Carla Wehbe
Meet Carla. A true creative by definition, Carla Wehbe is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, with her fingerprints all over everything she creates. Her debut EP 'Half Past Nine’ will be released this October and across its four tracks, Half Past Nine explores themes of love (for others and self), the beauty (and ugliness) of human connection and the vulnerability of living out your own truth.
The EP highlights Carla’s signature sound - a seamless merging of current pop melodies with an edgy 80’s nostalgia. Her pure pop vocal is teamed effortlessly with vulnerable songwriting and coupled with a tough exterior and vintage style that is at the same time inviting and admirable.
New single ‘Love Me For Me’ is out now / debut EP 'Half Past Nine’ our Fri 23rd October.
Indigenous Artist: Lily Bennett
Meet Lily Bennett she is of Barkindji and Nyallapon descent. Her grandmother was stolen generation and grandfather was a croc hunter by trade! Her father was an incredibly talented indigenous artist and an emu egg carver, who unfortunately passed on earlier this year. Lily says she was left reeling and unable to truly comprehend that it had really happened. She found it really hard sitting with the emotions of grief. She had a dream a few days after he passed of them sitting side by side painting with their fingers, it was then that she decided to start painting!
She started with different earthly colours which she then overlayed with finger dots signifying her belief that we are all here on this earth together almost touching, always connected in one way or another. Something Lily feels we all need to remember in these times, regardless of our backgrounds and our skin colour we are all cut from the same cloth and we are all connected.
We have teamed up with Universal Store to give 1 lucky person & a friend the chance to WIN a customised Lime Cordiale surfboard, a $500 Lime Cordiale X Wrangler wardrobe a signed “14 Steps To A Better You” vinyl each!
